This function is used to identify and set the surface of the material.

Before using this key, you have to make sure the spring retainer ring is not locked.
The “set material surface” function can only be used if your pendant displays or .

Once the material surface is set you should not have to reset it again unless:
a) the system has been shut off; or
b) the material thickness has been changed.

Press the JOG ARROWS keys to position the cutter anywhere over the material.
Press the SURFACE key. This will open the following window:


1. You can now (continuously) push the probe button . The spindle will slowly move down and set the plate surface.
2. Or you can manually move the spindle down till it just touches the material surface and hit the Enter key in the set surface window.

Press the JOG ARROWS keys to position the cutter on the upper left corner of the imaginary rectangle of which you want to scan the relief.
Press the SURFACE key. This will open the following window:
