Important notes on handling and use
The Cyborg X-300 is a precision device. Please read the following remarks carefully, in order to ensure optimal performance and safety.
The Cyborg X-300 is a precision device
Handle this machine with care. Never use excessive force, never allow it to receive impacts of whatever source.
Only use this machine as described in this manual. Do not attempt to use it for any other application.
Make sure this machine is always kept clean, meaning any debris of chips have to be vacuum cleaned (not blown away with compressed air!)
If the spindle carriage or the gantry have to be moved, always do that via the virtual keypad. Never attempt to move either of these by force of hand.
Do not open the covers of this machine when not needed. When covers have to be taken off, follow the procedures described in this manual. Never operate the machine with missing covers.
Install the Cyborg X-300 in a suitable location
Install the Cyborg X-300 in a covered area, on a stable, non slippery underground. Make sure the structure underneath is capable of carrying the weight of this machine.
Install the machine in a clean environment. Do not allow access of water, oil or other fluids.
When choosing an installation environment, make sure it complies with the prescribed temperature and humidity conditions. Operation in extreme temperatures, below 10°C and above 40°C may cause damage to the electronics and/or cause malfunctioning of the machine.
Machine temperature
This machine has built in electronics which need air ventilation. To achieve sufficient ventilation, the X-300 contains several cylindrical holes on the rear side. The air is sourced from the rear and the left and right belt openings. This implies that each and everyone of these openings have to stay uncovered. Sufficient airflow should be allowed. Please take a look at the areas concerned and make sure they are not obstructed.
If the machine would be placed into a case, e.g. to isolate noise, this case should still allow for enough airflow.
In general the location in which the machine will be placed, has to have good ventilation.
Always use tools which are suitable for the machine, suitable for the workpiece, and suitable for the engraving method or the job to be executed.
Do not try to exceed the capacities of the machine. Where the manual stipulates that this machine is capable of engraving aluminium, that does not mean any kind of aluminium, at any depth in one pass.
Be aware that engraving and routing are two different things. Engraving is always performed at shallow depths, just enough for colour filling purposes.
Tool tips are fragile and will easily break if you drop them.
