"Condense Mode" menu option

Details

Three options are available:

  • Lines individually: When any single line is condensed, either manually or because the text that is entered would otherwise become too long, only that specific line will be affected.
  • Equal Height Lines: When the condensation for a specific text line is set (either manually or because the text in that specific line would otherwise become too long), all other text lines with the exact same height automatically receive the same condensation factor.
Also, if one or more text lines with a specific height already have modified condensation values, they will be modified proportionally.

    For example:
There are two text lines with a 15 mm line height, the first with a condensation of 100%, the other with a condensation of 80%.
When (additional) text is entered in the first line, changing the condensation to 60%, the condensation of the second line will change to 48% (i.e. 60% of 80%).
Reversely, when you change the condensation of the second line by 25% from 48% to 36% by adding text in the second line, this will reduce the condensation value in the first line by another 25% too, i.e. the 60% will become 45%.
  • All Lines Equally: The smallest percentage of any one text line is applied to all other text lines in the job, no matter their height.

The Condensation is expressed as a percentage of the standard text width, which corresponds to 100%. As a consequence, the stronger a text is condensed, the smaller the percentage will become. A 50% condensed text line will be shorter than a 90% text line.
