====== Option de menu "Charger police Symmetry (*.CFF)" ======

En standard, comme vous pourrez le constater dans le menu déroulant **[[main_screen#▪_police_hauteur_et_justification|Police]]**, il n'y a qu'un nombre limité des polices de caractères qui est affiché en standard.
Si vous voulez vous servir de n'import quelle autre police de caractères Symmetry à votre disposition, il faut importer ces polices d'abord.
Si vous voulez avoir d'autres (ou plus de) polices disponibles en standard en Symmetry ? Voous pouvez également changer la liste des polices dans le menu **[[option_preferences|Préférences]]**.

En ce moment, il ya 45 polices de caractères Symmetry disponibles dans le logiciel, dont la plupart des polices Européennes classiques. De plus, la liste de polices contient une police Russe (Cyrillique) et une Grecque .

  * Accédez l'option **Charger police Symmetry** dans le menu **[[menu_text|Texte]]**.
  * Choisissez la police de votre choix.
  * La partie supérieure de la fenêtre **Charger police Symmetry Load** vous montre une liste de polices disponibles avec une barre de défilement sur le côté.\\ La partie inférieure de la fenêtre vous donne une prévisualisation de la police marquée.
  * En cliquant le bouton **OK** en bas de la fenêtre, vous ajouterez la police dans la liste de **Polices** en bas au milieur de l'écran principal, et elle sera en même temps appliquée sur la ligne de texte actuelle.

==== Cipher vs. Truetype fonts ====

  * When choosing the **[[menu_text|Text]]** menu, you will notice that the top two menu options allow you to import fonts: either **[[option_import_cipher_font|Cipher fonts]]**, or **[[option_import_truetype_font|TrueType fonts]]**. Both font types are fundamentally different: **Cipher fonts** were designed specifically for engraving purposes and come only with Symmetry and its predecessor, Cipher, while **Truetype fonts** are fonts for layout and printing purposes and come with a wide array of layout and design softwares, such as MS Word, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, etc.\\ \\ 
  * Among the available Cipher fonts, there are some outline fonts, single-line fonts, and multiple-line fonts. TrueType fonts will always start as outline fonts. If you want to engrave them, not as outline characters, but filled out, you need to apply the **[[option_object_fill_tool_dimension|Object Fill and Tool dimensions]]** menu option after typing in your text. As explained in the **Object Fill and Tool dimensions** in this manual, the outline of the text will consequently be filled using the "island fill" method.\\ You should be aware that, in comparison with similar multiple-line fonts, filled out Trueype texts take much longer to engrave. You can slight influence this by choosing a wider cutter tip, but only to a limited degree.
