==== The Preferences window ====

Variables and values that can be changed through the **Preferences** window:{{ :symmetry:en:preferences_window.png?700|}}

  * **Language**: Opens a drop-down menu showing all available languages. At this time, the following languages are available:
    * English
    * French (Français)
    * Dutch (Nederlands)
  * **Units**:
    * Metric (mm)
    * Imperial (Inches)

The **Plate defaults**:

  * **Width**
  * **Height**, the standard Width and Height that will be shown as the **Plate Dimensions** in the **[[option_autoplate|Autoplate]]** screen, as well as the standard dimensions when starting a **[[option_new_job|New Job]]**.
  * Baseline

  * **Text occupies** (expressed in %): the standard percentage of the total plate surface which will be covered by the text lines.
  * **Margin percent** (expressed in %): the standard percentage of the total plate surface which will be 
  * Text height

  * Margins
  * **Number of lines**: the standard number of lines when activating the **[[option_autoplate|Autoplate]]** option.
  * **Condensation** refers to the standard **[[option_condense_mode|Condense Mode]]** setting.
